The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2110-7MN36-0HH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed as the panel warms up near a motor starter stack. This is the motor-protection variant, with phase failure detection built in, so it catches a lost phase on a conveyor or pump drive before the winding overheats.
Interrupting capacity and selectivity
Short-circuit breaking capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, and 187 kA at 500 V — numbers that put this MCCB well into the high-fault category for industrial distribution. At 690 V the rating drops to 3.7 kA, which still covers most motor branch circuits on a 690 V line. The trip time band is 4 s minimum to 17 s maximum, giving the selectivity engineer room to coordinate with downstream breakers on a motor control center feeder.
Auxiliaries and release configuration
Factory-fitted with a shunt trip release (STL) for remote emergency-off and two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch HQ — enough to signal breaker status and trip event back to a PLC or SCADA input. The basic switch assembly is order code 3VA21107MN360AA0, which means the aux block is integral, not a field-add-on. A voltage trigger is present; undervoltage release is not, so the shunt trip is the only remote-trip path.
Integration dimensions
Mounts on a DIN rail or panel-mount baseplate. Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — fits standard SENTRON 3VA2 cutout patterns. Operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Max power loss is 10 W, so ventilation in a sealed enclosure is advisable if multiple breakers are ganged.
