What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2110-7MS32-0AE0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. It is a 3-pole unit designed specifically for starter protection, meaning it coordinates with motor contactors and overload relays to clear faults before the contactor welds shut. The breaker carries a 330 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC, dropping to 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — the steep drop at 690 V tells you this is a 690 V rated device but the arc extinction is optimized for the 400–500 V distribution levels common in industrial panels.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint that drops into a DIN-rail-mounted or screw-fixed panel cutout. The breaker ships with four auxiliary switches (HQ type) pre-installed, configurable for status feedback to a PLC or to drive a remote indication lamp. No undervoltage release, no shunt trip, no communication module on this variant — it is a pure thermal-magnetic trip unit with no electronic accessories, so wiring is straightforward: line in, load out, aux contacts for the control circuit.
