100 A MCCB for motor and starter protection
The Siemens 3VA2110-7MS32-0AJ0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) with a starter protection design, rated for 100 A continuous current across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C. It carries a maximum adjustable trip setting of 1 500 A and a minimum of 300 A, giving you a wide band for coordinating with motor inrush and downstream branch protection. Breaking capacity is 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 330 kA at 240 V is high enough for most industrial service-entrance or large-motor applications where fault current is substantial; the drop at 690 V to 3.7 kA is typical for a 100 A frame and means you need to verify coordination if the breaker sits on a 690 V bus with high available fault current. The 3-pole unit measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame footprint that fits existing panel layouts without re-drilling. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HP type) pre-installed, so you get status feedback and remote trip indication without ordering add-on modules separately.
Panel fit and integration
Mounts on a standard DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the 3VA2 frame's screw terminals. The 86 mm depth leaves clearance for most 600 mm deep enclosures with the door closed. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 10 W — negligible for thermal budgeting in a typical MCC bucket.
