MCCB with real interrupting muscle
The Siemens 3VA2116-5HL32-0BH0 is a SENTRON 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 160 A continuous current. It packs a 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V — that's real fault-clearing power for high-available-current plant feeders or transformer secondaries. The ETU320 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable long-time, short-time, and instantaneous protection curves, plus a built-in undervoltage release (UVR) for coordinated emergency stops. Power loss tops out at 28 W, so heat management in a packed panel is manageable.
Footprint and panel fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard MCCB footprint that bolts into most SENTRON mounting plates or panel backpanels. The 86 mm depth means it clears shallow enclosures where deeper breakers won't fit. It ships with a basic switch (3VA2116-5HL32-0AA0) and an integrated auxiliary trip (3VA9608-0BB11) for remote status and shunt-trip capability.
Key ratings at a glance
Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and it carries 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ version). The thermal derating curve is flat from 40 °C to 50 °C at 160 A, then steps down: 154 A at 55 °C, 148 A at 60 °C, 142 A at 65 °C, and 136 A at 70 °C. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C. Latching endurance is 20,000 operations.
