The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-5HL32-0DA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current (Iu), with a line-protection ETU320 overcurrent release and an integrated undervoltage release (UVR). Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V — numbers that govern selectivity and SCCR coordination in the distribution panel.
Thermal derating and power loss
The 160 A rating holds flat across 40 °C to 50 °C ambient. Above that, derate stepwise: 154 A at 55 °C, 148 A at 60 °C, 142 A at 65 °C, 136 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 28 W. If this breaker sits in a crowded enclosure near other heat sources, account for the derate curve — the 160 A nameplate is only valid up to 50 °C ambient.

Dimensions are 181 mm high × 105 mm wide × 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole SENTRON 3VA2 frame — it clips onto the DIN rail or mounts via the screw terminals. Overcurrent release and auxiliary trip
The ETU320 electronic trip unit handles line protection with adjustable thermal and magnetic settings.
