What this breaker carries — and what that means for the panel
The 3VA2116-5HL36-0BC0 is a Siemens 3VA2 IEC frame 160 circuit breaker in breaking capacity class M, rated Icu=55kA at 415 VAC. That 55 kA interrupting rating at 415 V means it can clear a bolted fault up to that level without rupturing — class M is the mid-range tier in the 3VA2 family, sized for industrial distribution panels where the available fault current sits between the standard (S) and high (H) classes. Three-pole construction, line-side protection via an ETU320 trip unit with LI (long-time and instantaneous) curves. In=160 A continuous rating, with overload protection adjustable Ir=63 A...160 A and short-circuit pickup Ii=1.5...10 x In. The clamp-type terminals accept copper or aluminum conductors up to the frame's rated cross-section — no compression lugs needed for most panel builds.
Integrated accessories — UVR and auxiliary switches
This order code ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) coil rated 24 V DC and two HQ auxiliary switches factory-fitted. The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below about 18 V DC — standard for safety circuits that need to drop the main breaker on E-stop or undervoltage conditions. The two auxiliary switches (HQ designation) provide NO/NC status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp. Because the UVR and aux switches are installed at the factory, no field wiring into the breaker's accessory slots is required; the terminations are accessible on the front face for control wiring.
