MCCB for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-5HL42-0AB0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for a continuous current of 160 A across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and still clears 121 kA at 415 V, which puts it squarely in the high-fault tier for industrial mains feeders or large motor control centers. The ETU320 electronic trip unit gives adjustable long-time delay (0.5 s to 17 s at tr max) and configurable N-conductor protection (OFF, 50%, 100%). That makes it suitable for distribution panels where coordination with downstream breakers matters — you shape the curve, not just accept a fixed thermal-magnetic characteristic.
Dimensions and panel fit
Footprint is 140 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 86 mm deep — the 140 mm width is a standard 4-pole frame size for this SENTRON generation. Front IP40 protection means it's fine inside a closed panel; no washdown rating, so keep it out of splash zones. Maximum power dissipation is 25.5 W. In a densely packed enclosure, that heat needs to be factored into the thermal budget — especially if the breaker is loaded near its 160 A continuous rating.
