What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-5HN32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, and still holds 75.6 kA at 500 V, so it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. Line protection design means it trips on overcurrent and short-circuit only — no ground-fault module, no undervoltage release, no communication stack. The auxiliary switch pack (2 HQ form-C contacts) and the built-in shunt trip (STL) give remote trip and status feedback for a PLC or safety relay.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame that drops into the same DIN-rail or screw-mount footprint as other 160 A MCCBs in the series. The 86 mm depth leaves room behind a 200 mm deep enclosure door for wiring and the shunt trip leads.
