What the ratings mean for fit
The 3VA2116-5HN32-0KL0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated 160 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V, which means it can clear fault currents at those levels without upstream cascading, critical for high-fault panels behind a large transformer. The 75.6 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V cover the upper voltage bands where arc energy is higher. A shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release is built in for remote emergency-off, and the auxiliary switch complement (2 aux + 1 trip alarm + 1 electrical alarm HQ) gives the PLC or safety relay the status feedback it needs.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep. Mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the screw terminals. The 3-pole footprint is standard for a 160 A MCCB; check the depth clearance for the shunt trip wiring and auxiliary cable bundle — the 86 mm depth is from the mounting surface to the front of the breaker body, not including the handle throw.
