MCCB for high-fault line protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-5HN36-0CL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 160 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed in a warm cabinet. It is designed for line protection, meaning it sits at the feeder or main distribution point rather than protecting a specific motor or load. The interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V AC and 121 kA at 415 V / 440 V, so it handles high-fault conditions in industrial switchboards without cascading upstream. The 86 mm depth and 105 mm width fit standard panel cutouts for this frame class.
Built-in undervoltage release and auxiliary switch complement
This MCCB ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) that trips the breaker when supply voltage drops below a threshold — common in safety circuits where a loss of control power must open the main disconnect. The auxiliary switch complement includes two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch (HQ type), giving the panel builder four separate signal paths for status feedback to the PLC or annunciator. No communication function is built in; this is a hardwired breaker.
