What it is and what it does
The SENTRON 3VA2116-5HN36-0HH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current, designed for line protection in distribution panels and industrial switchgear. Its interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — covering most low-voltage fault scenarios without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse. The 160 A rating holds across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C, so no derating is needed for warm enclosures.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures without re-drilling. The breaker ships with a shunt trip (STL) release and an auxiliary switch block configurable as 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ), covering remote trip and status feedback. A voltage-trigger indicator and trip indicator are built in, giving local visual status without needing extra pilot lights.
