The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-6HN42-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current, designed for line protection in industrial distribution panels. It carries the ETU350 electronic trip unit, giving you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves without swapping hardware.
Mounts on a standard DIN rail or panel-mount base — the 140 mm width and 181 mm height fit a typical MCCB slot in a SENTRON distribution board. IP40 on the front keeps dust out of the enclosure; the rest of the breaker is rated for open-panel mounting inside a switchgear cabinet.
Interrupting capacity is substantial: 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V, and still 121 kA at 500 V — enough for high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries. At 690 V it drops to 3.7 kA, so for 690 V systems verify the available fault current stays below that. Power loss at rated current is 25.5 W, manageable in a ventilated panel.
Rated insulation voltage 800 V, operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant — it's a straight line-protection breaker with the ETU350 trip unit. If you need those functions, look at the -5JP32 or -5HL32 siblings.
