160 A continuous, ETU320 trip — the rating that governs the BOM line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2116-7HL32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) carrying a continuous current rating of 160 A that holds flat across the operating temperature range — still 160 A at 70 °C (–). For a BOM freeze, that means no derate curve to manage inside a warm panel; the breaker delivers its nameplate rating up to the maximum operating temperature. The electronic trip unit is an ETU320, which is the base adjustable thermal-magnetic release in the 3VA line — line protection design, no ground-fault or communication function onboard. Breaking capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V and 242 kA at 415 V, then drops to 187 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V. The steep fall at 690 V is the limit of the 3VA platform in this frame size — if your fault study shows more than 3.7 kA available at 690 V, this breaker is not the coordination point.
