It's built for line protection — the main feeder or large subfeed in a distribution panel, not for motor starting or individual load switching.
Interrupting ratings climb steeply with system voltage: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.8 kA at 690 V. At the common 400/415 V distribution level, 242 kA covers nearly any industrial fault current you'll encounter — high-rupture-capacity switchgear, transformer secondaries, large motor banks. The drop to 3.8 kA at 690 V is expected for this frame size; if your 690 V system needs more, you'd step up to a larger 3VA frame.
The ETU320 release offers adjustable N-conductor protection (OFF, 50%, 100%), which matters for panels with shared neutrals or where you need to coordinate with downstream breakers.
Power loss and endurance
Maximum power loss is 25.5 W — moderate for a 160 A frame. Latching endurance is 20,000 operations, which is typical for a distribution breaker; it's not a switching device for frequent cycling.
