What this MCCB carries
The Siemens 3VA2116-7JQ32-0AA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated 160 A continuous from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C — no derating needed across that span, which simplifies panel thermal budgeting for a line-up of these breakers. It carries an ETU560 electronic trip unit, so you get adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves — not a fixed thermal-magnetic. The N-conductor protection is adjustable from OFF up to 160 % of the phase rating, useful for sizing the neutral on a 4-wire system. Interrupting ratings: 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That covers most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications where high fault current is expected.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this class — drops into the same DIN-rail or panel-mount cutout as other SENTRON 3VA2-frame breakers. IP40 on the front, so it's fine inside a closed panel; not rated for washdown. Rated insulation voltage Ui 800 V, operating temperature range -25 °C to 70 °C, storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss 25.5 W — factor that into enclosure ventilation if you're packing several breakers side by side.
Lifecycle and compliance
Communication function is built in (ETU560 supports Modbus RTU via the optional COM module), so this breaker can report trip events, load currents, and alarm status to a PLC or BMS without extra signal wiring.
