What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA2125-6HK36-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) carrying a rated continuous current Iu of 25 A across its full operating temperature range from -40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to 70 °C ambient. Three poles, line-protection version, fitted with the ETU340 electronic overcurrent release. The 242 kA breaking capacity at 240 V (187 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 500 V, 42 kA at 690 V) gives serious fault-interruption headroom for high-available-fault-current installations.
Breaking capacity — what the numbers mean for coordination
The 242 kA at 240 V is the ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) for this 3VA2125 frame. That figure drops to 187 kA at 415/440 V and 121 kA at 500 V, still well above typical panel SCCR requirements. At 690 V the 42 kA rating still clears most industrial fault levels. The ETU340 release is adjustable for long-time pickup and short-time delay, letting you coordinate downstream feeders without sacrificing selectivity.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions: 86 mm depth, 105 mm width, 181 mm height. The 3VA2 frame mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. Front IP40 protection keeps dust and accidental contact out of the breaker face. Optional motor drive available for remote tripping or reset.
