What the ratings mean for the panel
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5HL32-0KA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current (Iu) of 63 A all the way up to 50 °C. That means in a warm panel — say, next to a drive or a transformer — it doesn't derate until you push past 55 °C, where it drops to 60.6 A, then 58.3 A at 60 °C, 55.9 A at 65 °C, and 53.6 A at 70 °C. The interrupting capacity tells the real story: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V. Those numbers cover most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications where fault current is high. The ETU320 electronic trip unit gives you adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves, and the built-in shunt trip (STL) lets you remote-trip it from a safety circuit or E-stop string.
Mounting and integration
This MCCB bolts into a panel or enclosure — no DIN-rail clip. The dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint, so it'll fit most existing bus-bar or cable-connection layouts without re-drilling. The basic switch assembly is order code 3VA2163-5HL32-0AA0, and the integrated auxiliary trip is 3VA9688-0BL33 — good to know if you're ordering spare parts or a replacement mechanism down the road.
