What this MCCB delivers on the line
The 3VA2163-5HL32-0KC0 is a Siemens SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current at 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that band. The adjustable thermal-magnetic trip unit covers 95 A minimum to 756 A maximum, so you set it to the actual load, not the frame. Breaking capacity runs 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V; that 187 kA figure at 240 V handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. The 3-pole design is line-protection configured — no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring, no undervoltage release on this variant. It ships with a shunt trip (STL) release and two auxiliary switches HQ. The internal basic switch is order code 3VA21635HL320AA0.
Panel fit and physical integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount installation. Maximum power loss is 4 W, so heat dissipation is minimal inside the enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Trip indicator and auxiliary release detail
This variant has no trip indicator and no undervoltage release. The auxiliary release is a shunt trip (STL) — used for remote tripping via a control signal. The two auxiliary switches HQ provide status feedback for the breaker position.
