The Siemens 3VA2163-5HL36-0DL0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Breaking capacity hits 187 kA at 240 V AC, dropping to 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA figure at 240 V means it handles the highest available fault current on a typical 240 V distribution panel without upstream fuses having to clear first — useful for high-SCCR lineups. Designed for line protection (not motor or generator duty), this MCCB includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and a full auxiliary switch complement: two auxiliary switches, one trip alarm switch, and one electrical alarm switch (HQ type). The UVR drops the breaker if control voltage falls below the dropout threshold — common in emergency-stop circuits or undervoltage protection schemes. The trip alarm gives a discrete signal when the breaker trips on fault, not just when manually opened.
Integration notes
Panel footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep. The 3-pole body fits standard Siemens SENTRON 3VA2 mounting accessories — busbar kits, rear terminals, and door-coupling rotary handles share the same frame as other 3VA2 63 A variants. The auxiliary switch set (2 + 1 trip + 1 electrical alarm) occupies the left-side accessory slot; the undervoltage release fits the right-side slot. No communication module on this variant — it is a standalone breaker with no fieldbus or Modbus interface.
