What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5HN32-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current at 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that span, which simplifies panel layout when ambient runs warm. It carries 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V, so it handles high-fault service entrances and distribution feeders without cascading upstream. The design is line protection, not motor protection — no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module, no trip indicator. It ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) fitted, which drops the breaker if control voltage is lost, a common requirement for emergency-stop circuits and safety disconnects.
Where it fits in the panel
Mounts on a DIN rail or direct-panel screw fix. Dimensions are 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame size, so it drops into existing 3VA cutouts without re-drilling. The UVR coil is factory-installed; no extra wiring for the release function. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, covering 480/600 V distribution panels with margin.
