What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2163-5HN32-0DH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection in distribution panels. It carries 63 A continuous at 40 °C through all ambient points up to 70 °C — no derating needed across that range, which simplifies panel sizing in warm enclosures. Three-pole construction, with interrupting ratings of 187 kA at 240 V AC and 121 kA at 415/440 V AC. At 690 V the rating drops to 3.7 kA — still adequate for most industrial line-side faults, but verify against your available fault current if feeding a 690 V bus.
Built-in accessories and panel fit
This variant ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). The UVR drops the breaker on loss of control voltage — standard for safety circuits that need to guarantee a disconnect if the control supply fails. The auxiliary contacts report position back to a PLC or status lamp without extra wiring. Footprint is 105 mm wide × 181 mm tall × 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that fits existing Siemens panel cutouts and busbar systems. No communication module on board; this is a standalone thermal-magnetic breaker, not a metering or networked unit.
