What this MCCB carries — and what it shrugs off
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5HN32-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current, built for line protection in industrial distribution. It breaks up to 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V — so it handles high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without cascading upstream. ETU350 electronic trip unit with shunt trip (STL) for remote opening. Two HQ auxiliary switches for status feedback. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The breaker holds full 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it derates to 60.6 A, at 60 °C to 58.3 A, and at 70 °C to 53.6 A. If your panel ambient runs hot — say near a crusher drive or VFD cluster — factor that curve into the conductor and bus sizing. Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep, which fits the standard SENTRON 3VA mounting footprint and lines up with the busbar system.
