Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5HN32-0JH0 — 63 A MCCB for Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA2163-5HN32-0JH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full 40–70 °C ambient range — no derating needed in a warm panel. It carries a 187 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V and 121 kA at 415 V, which gives solid SCCR headroom for most industrial distribution boards without cascading upstream. The breaker is designed for line protection (cable/feeder), not motor protection, so the thermal-magnetic curve is set for conductor overload and short-circuit clearing. This 3-pole unit ships with a factory-installed shunt trip (STL) release and a 2 auxiliary + 1 trip alarm switch HQ configuration — that covers remote tripping and status feedback without adding a separate accessory kit. The shunt trip lets a safety PLC or E-stop circuit kill the breaker remotely, which is a common requirement on automated lines.
Panel Fit and Mounting
The breaker footprint is 105 mm wide by 181 mm tall by 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame size that fits existing 3VA panel cutouts and busbar systems. No adapter plate needed for a direct swap into a Siemens switchboard or distribution panel that already takes 3VA2 breakers. The 4 W maximum power loss is low enough that adjacent units in a multi-breaker lineup won't force a derating derate under normal loading.
