What it is and what the ratings mean
The SENTRON 3VA2163-5HN36-0JH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 63 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed up to the enclosure's thermal limit. Its interrupting capacity is the headline number: 187 kA at 240 V, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 187 kA at 240 V means it can safely clear a fault current up to 187,000 A at that voltage without the arc re-striking or the case rupturing — critical for high-fault panels near large transformers or service entrances. Physical fit: 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall. Built-in trip indicator and voltage trigger are present; undervoltage release is not. The auxiliary switch configuration includes 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ), and a shunt trip (STL) is fitted. No communication module, no ground-fault monitoring.
Where you'd use it
Line-protection MCCB for main or feeder circuits in industrial distribution panels, motor control centers, and switchboards. 63 A rating and high breaking capacity suit it for service entrance or sub-feed applications.
