SENTRON 3VA2 with ETU550 — 63 A line protection
The Siemens 3VA2163-5JP32-0AJ0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) across three poles, with the ETU550 electronic trip unit handling overcurrent protection. Breaking capacity runs 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415/440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V — so the same frame covers high-fault industrial mains and lower-fault distribution without a frame-size jump. Line protection version, no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Rated 63 A straight through 50 °C; above that the ETU550 derates linearly — 60.6 A at 55 °C, 58.3 A at 60 °C, 55.9 A at 65 °C, 53.6 A at 70 °C. If the panel ambient pushes past 50 °C, size the load side for the derated figure, not the nameplate 63 A. Footprint is 105 mm wide × 181 mm tall × 86 mm deep — standard 3-pole MCCB envelope for a 400 A frame. Front IP40, so it lives inside a closed enclosure, not exposed washdown.
Auxiliary contacts and communication
Comes with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HP type) factory-fitted — no separate aux kit to order. Communication function is onboard, so it can report status to a higher-level system without an add-on module. The ETU550 electronic trip unit supports adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault (if enabled) curves via the front dials; no voltage trigger or phase-failure detection on this variant.
