SENTRON 3VA2 MCCB — 63 A, 3-Pole Line Protection
The Siemens 3VA2163-5JP32-0BA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed in a warm panel. Its 187 kA breaking capacity at 240 V AC handles high-fault utility feeds; at 415 V and 440 V it still clears 121 kA, dropping to 75.6 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That puts it squarely in the high-interrupting class for industrial distribution, not a light-duty branch breaker. Three-pole design with an undervoltage release (UVR) built in — the auxiliary release type means the breaker trips if control voltage drops below a set threshold, a common requirement for safety circuits and emergency-stop chains. Communication function is onboard, so it can feed status back to a PLC or BMS without a separate interface module. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, which gives headroom on 480/600 V systems. Maximum power loss at rated current is 6.5 W — negligible for panel thermal budgeting, but worth noting if you're packing multiple breakers in a sealed enclosure.
Dimensions and Panel Fit
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint. It mounts directly to a DIN rail or panel-mount adapter; the 86 mm depth leaves clearance behind a typical 200 mm deep enclosure.
