63 A MCCB with 187 kA interrupting capacity — line protection for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5JP32-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 VAC, 121 kA at 415/440 VAC, and still manages 75.6 kA at 500 VAC, making it a fit for high-fault industrial distribution where standard MCBs would weld shut. The 86 mm depth × 105 mm width × 181 mm height footprint matches the SENTRON 3VA frame, so it lands in the same panel cutout as other 3VA2 breakers.
Built-in communication and shunt trip — not a bare breaker
This variant ships with a communication function and a shunt trip release (STL) as the auxiliary release, plus two HQ auxiliary switches. That means it can report status and accept a remote trip signal without an add-on module — useful for emergency-off circuits or PLC-driven load shedding. The undervoltage release is absent by design, so the breaker holds in regardless of control power state; if you need UVR protection, this isn't the variant.
Current production — no obsolescence concern
Lifecycle status is current, so this order code is still in active manufacture from Siemens. No last-time-buy clock, no substitute hunt needed. For volume or project-pricing requests, the part is quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution.
Panel fit and thermal limits
Three-pole frame at 105 mm wide — standard 3VA2 panel cutout. Operating range from -25 °C to 70 °C ambient; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 4 W, negligible for enclosure heat load calculations. The 63 A rating holds flat across the entire ambient span, so no derating curve to apply in a warm cabinet.
