Communication function is built in (the '5JP42' segment indicates PROFIBUS or similar fieldbus integration capability), so the breaker can report status and trip events to a higher-level control system without an add-on module. The ETU550 also supports energy metering data via the communication interface — useful for submetering a feeder without a separate meter.
