What this MCCB carries
The Siemens 3VA2163-5JQ32-0AC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current and fitted with an ETU560 electronic trip unit. Breaking capacity runs 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 79 kA at 500 V, and 4.25 kA at 690 V — so the same breaker covers both high-fault 240 V distribution and lower-fault 690 V motor circuits without upsizing the frame. The ETU560 is a communicating electronic trip unit — this breaker carries a communication function and ground-fault monitoring via summation current formation on the L-conductor. That makes it a fit for power-monitoring schemes where you want trip data and leakage visibility without a separate ground-fault relay.
Thermal derating — the real ampacity
Rated continuous current holds at 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that it steps down: 60.6 A at 55 °C, 58.3 A at 60 °C, 55.9 A at 65 °C, and 53.6 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs 60 °C, plan for 58 A continuous — the 63 A nameplate applies only up to 50 °C.
Panel fit and wiring
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for a 160 A frame. Front protection is IP40, so it's fine for a clean indoor panel but not for washdown areas. The auxiliary contact version is 2 HQ (two changeover contacts), and there is no undervoltage release or voltage trip fitted from the factory.
