63 A MCCB with motor protection and undervoltage release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-5MN36-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated at 63 A, designed specifically for motor protection. It carries a full 63 A continuously from 40 °C up to 70 °C ambient — no derating needed across that span, per the datasheet. The interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V, so it handles high-fault industrial service entrances and motor branch circuits with substantial SCCR headroom.
Built-in protection and auxiliary functions
This MCCB includes phase failure detection and an undervoltage release (UVR) as standard auxiliary release. Two auxiliary switches HQ are supplied with the basic switch. The UVR trips the breaker when supply voltage drops below a threshold, which is useful for preventing motor re-acceleration after a power sag. No ground-fault monitoring version is included, and no communication function is onboard.
Physical footprint and panel fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that mounts on DIN rail or panel-mount. The 86 mm depth is within typical enclosure clearance for 3-pole MCCBs in motor control centers. Maximum power loss is 6.5 W, which matters for thermal budgeting inside sealed enclosures. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
