MCCB with ETU350M — 63 A, 3-pole, motor-protection curve
The Siemens 3VA2163-5MN36-0HC0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated at 63 A continuous current, built around the ETU350M electronic trip unit for motor protection. The ETU350M provides adjustable overload and short-circuit protection with phase-failure detection, so it's suited for protecting motor feeders where standard thermal-magnetic breakers might nuisance-trip on inrush. The 63 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C; above that, it derates to 60.48 A at 55 °C and 56.7 A at 70 °C — factor that into panel ambient if you're pushing the thermal budget.
Breaking capacity across voltage levels
This MCCB delivers 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 75.6 kA at 500 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. Those are high-interrupting ratings — the 121 kA at 415 V covers most industrial low-voltage fault levels without needing a current-limiting upstream fuse. The 17 kA at 690 V is still adequate for 690 V motor circuits in heavy industry, but verify your available fault current at that voltage level.
Panel integration and mounting
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — fits standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar systems. The 86 mm depth is shallow enough for most 200 mm deep enclosures without crowding the gland plate. Latching endurance is 20,000 operations; the maximum power loss is 75 W, so account for that in thermal calculations if you're grouping several breakers. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
