What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-6HL32-0KH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection. It carries a continuous current of 63 A at 40 °C through 70 °C with no derating — the full 63 A holds across that entire ambient range, which simplifies panel thermal budgeting. Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415/440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 242 kA at 240 V is high — it handles fault currents at the service entrance or near large transformers without cascading upstream. The breaker includes a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping and a complement of 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ), giving status feedback for PLC or annunciator inputs.
Panel fit and dimensions
Dimensions: 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep. The 105 mm width is standard for a 3-pole SENTRON 3VA2 frame — it fits the same DIN-rail or panel-mount footprint as other 3VA2 breakers, so a panel laid out for a 3VA2 accepts this unit without re-drilling.
