What this MCCB carries — and what it doesn't
The SENTRON 3VA2163-6HL36-0AB0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 63 A continuous with an adjustable thermal-magnetic trip covering 95 A to 756 A. It's designed for line protection — not motor or generator protection — so the trip curve is shaped for feeder and distribution duty, not for starting inrush. Breaking capacity sits at 242 kA at 240 V, drops to 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That 242 kA at 240 V tells you it's built for high-fault panels — think transformer secondaries or busway feeds where the available fault current is stiff. No derating from 40 °C through 70 °C ambient — the full 63 A holds across that range. That's unusual for a molded case; most breakers start knocking current down above 40 °C. If your panel runs hot, this one doesn't force a upsizing.
Footprint and panel fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep. That 105 mm width is the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for this frame size — it drops into the same DIN-rail or panel-mount cutout as other SENTRON 3VA frame breakers. No surprise on the gland plate. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Power loss is 4 W maximum.
