Rated for 63 A continuous, interrupts 242 kA at 240 V
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-6HN32-0DL0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current at 40 °C. Its interrupting capacity reaches 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 5 kA at 690 V — the 240 V figure is the headline for high-fault applications like transformer secondaries or large motor branch circuits. The ETU350 electronic trip unit handles line protection (no ground-fault or voltage-trip function built in). Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the breaker carries an undervoltage release (UVR) as standard — the auxiliary release is the 3VA9608-0BB25. Auxiliary contact complement: 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch + 1 electrical alarm switch HQ.
Panel fit — 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep, 181 mm tall
The breaker occupies 105 mm width on the DIN rail or mounting plate, 86 mm depth behind the panel door, and 181 mm height. Standard SENTRON 3VA2 footprint — no special cutout required. Undervoltage release and auxiliary contacts are factory-integrated; no field-wiring of separate trip modules.
Derating and thermal limits
Rated 63 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. At 55 °C it derates to 60.6 A, at 60 °C to 58.3 A, at 65 °C to 55.9 A, and at 70 °C to 53.6 A. Maximum operating temperature is 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 6.5 W.
