What this MCCB is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2163-6HN36-0AH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that top end. Three-pole construction, line protection design, no undervoltage release, no communication function. Breaking capacity is 242 kA at 240 V AC, 187 kA at 415 V / 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V. That spread tells you it's built for high-fault industrial distribution panels where the available short-circuit current is substantial at lower voltages.
Panel fit and integration
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, 86 mm deep — standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame footprint for a 3-pole 63 A unit. Mounts on a DIN rail or via screw-mount base; occupies roughly 4 inches of rail width. The supplied basic switch variant is 3VA2163-6HN36-0AA0; the auxiliary switch configuration is 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type). Power loss is 4 W maximum at rated current.
