What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA2163-6HN36-0CH0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a continuous current rating of 63 A across the full ambient temperature range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling, which simplifies panel layout when the breaker sits next to heat-generating gear. Rated interrupting capacity hits 242 kA at 240 V and 187 kA at 415 V, so it handles high-fault scenarios common in industrial mains or transformer-fed sub-distribution without cascading upstream.
Fit and integration
Three-pole, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep, 181 mm tall — mounts on a standard DIN rail or panel-mount plate. The 105 mm width matches the SENTRON 3VA2 frame footprint, so it drops into an existing MCCB slot without re-drilling the sub-panel. Comes factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and a 2-auxiliary-switch + 1 trip-alarm-switch HQ block. That means you get remote status and undervoltage protection without adding external relays — useful for safety circuits that need to drop the breaker on a control-voltage loss.
