What this 4-pole MCCB carries
Its breaking capacity scales with system voltage: 242 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at both 415 V and 440 V, 121 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — so the same breaker covers everything from a 240 V sub-feed to a 690 V motor control center, as long as the available fault current at each voltage stays under those thresholds. That simplifies panel design in warm enclosures or near heat-generating equipment — you don't have to oversize the frame for ambient temperature. It includes a communication function, which means it can report status and trip events to a higher-level control system over the plant network — useful for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance on critical feeders.
Maximum power loss is 4 W, so heat dissipation inside the enclosure is minimal — one less variable to calculate in a dense panel.
