The 3-pole construction and ETU340 electronic overcurrent release give it adjustable long-time, short-time, instantaneous, and ground-fault protection curves, which matters when you need selective coordination downstream of a transformer or upstream of a motor control center. Breaking capacity is the headline number here: 242 kA at 415 V AC and 440 V AC, 330 kA at 240 V, 187 kA at 500 V.
Panel fit and physical integration
Front IP40 protection means the breaker is touch-safe on the front face but not sealed against dust ingress into the enclosure; install in a panel with at least IP4X overall.
What the ETU340 trip unit gives you
The ETU340 is an electronic trip unit with LSI protection: long-time (L) for overload, short-time (S) for selective coordination, and instantaneous (I) for short-circuit. It does not include ground-fault monitoring — that's the ETU350 or external add-on. The trip indicator is not fitted on this variant, so no mechanical flag for a tripped state on the breaker face. No undervoltage release, no communication function, no voltage trigger — this is a straight protection device, not a smart breaker. If you need remote signaling or undervoltage protection, you add the accessory modules separately.
