What it is and what it does
The SENTRON 3VA2163-7JP32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current. It uses the ETU550 electronic trip unit, which provides adjustable overload and short-circuit protection curves for line protection duty. The interrupting capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V AC and stays at 242 kA through 415–440 V, then drops to 187 kA at 500 V and 3.7 kA at 690 V — so on a 400 V distribution board this breaker handles fault currents up to 242 kA without needing an upstream current-limiting fuse.
Integration and mounting
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. The front face carries IP40 protection, meaning tools and fingers are kept out but the unit is not sealed against moisture; mount it inside a cabinet for washdown environments. Power loss is 4 W maximum at rated current, negligible for thermal budgeting inside a panel.
