MCCB with ETU860 — 63 A flat derating, 330 kA at 240 V
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-7KQ32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying a continuous current Iu of 63 A that holds flat from 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across the full operating temperature range, which simplifies panel design in warm enclosures. Breaking capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.8 kA at 690 V — the 330 kA figure at 240 V covers high-fault utility feeds, while the 3.8 kA at 690 V still clears a substantial fault on 690 V industrial networks.
ETU860 release and ground-fault monitoring
The overcurrent release is an ETU860 electronic trip unit with adjustable response times: tr from 0.5 to 25 and tsd up to 0.5 s. Ground-fault monitoring uses summation current formation on the L-conductor. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — suitable for panel mounting where the front is exposed but the interior is enclosed. Communication function is built in, supporting integration with higher-level monitoring systems.
Dimensions and panel fit
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for the SENTRON 3VA platform. Mechanical endurance is rated at 20 000 operations. Power loss is a maximum of 4 W, which keeps heat dissipation low in a crowded panel.
