What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA2163-7KQ42-0AA0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current at 40 °C through 70 °C — no derating needed across that full ambient range, which simplifies panel design in warm enclosures. Four poles, line-protection version, with an ETU860 electronic trip unit that supports communication and ground-fault monitoring via summation of L+N conductor current. Interrupting capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.8 kA at 690 V — the 690 V figure is notably lower, so verify the available fault current at that voltage. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Integration and mounting
Mounts in a standard panel footprint: 181 mm high, 140 mm wide, 86 mm deep. Front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a clean indoor panel; keep the enclosure door closed during washdown. The ETU860 trip unit includes a communication function, so you can wire it into a higher-level monitoring system without an add-on module. N-conductor protection is adjustable: OFF, 40 %, or up to 160 % of the phase rating. Adjustable response time (tr) ranges from 0.5 s to 25 s.
