63 A MCCB with full-temperature-rated motor protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-7MN32-0AC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) designed specifically for motor protection, carrying a full 63 A at ambient temperatures from 40 °C all the way up to 70 °C with zero derating — that means the thermal-magnetic trip curve stays true whether the panel is in a climate-controlled room or a hot pump house. Breaking capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V, tapering to 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, then 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — so it handles high-fault utility feeds on the low-voltage side without needing a current-limiting fuse upstream. Built-in phase failure detection catches a lost leg before the motor single-phases and cooks the winding — a feature you'd normally have to add as a separate relay or electronic overload.
Footprint and panel fit
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA footprint that drops into existing Siemens switchboard and distribution panel cutouts without re-drilling the gland plate. Two HQ auxiliary switches ride on the side, giving you normally-open and normally-closed status contacts for PLC feedback or remote annunciation — no separate accessory block needed unless you want more than two. Max power loss is 4 W, so heat buildup in a densely packed enclosure stays manageable — you can slot it next to contactors and relays without cooking the adjacent devices.
Lifecycle and sourcing
This -0AC0 includes two HQ auxiliary switches pre-fitted.
