63 A MCCB for motor branch circuits
The SENTRON 3VA2163-7MN32-0KH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C — no derating needed up to that ceiling. It is designed specifically for motor protection, with phase failure detection built in and a shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release for remote tripping. Breaking capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — figures that cover most industrial distribution fault levels. The 3.7 kA at 690 V is the limiting case for high-voltage motor circuits. The auxiliary switch block is configured as 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ), giving status feedback for both open/closed and tripped states. The basic switch core is order code 3VA2163-7MN32-0AA0.
Panel fit and wiring
Dimensions are 105 mm wide × 181 mm high × 86 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount installation. The 86 mm depth leaves clearance behind the gland plate for wiring and the shunt trip wiring harness. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 4 W, manageable in a sealed enclosure without active cooling.
