The electronic trip unit is an ETU350M, which gives adjustable thermal-magnetic curves plus phase-failure detection — that last bit matters for motor protection circuits where a lost phase can burn out a winding before a standard thermal overload reacts.
Sizing and thermal derating

If your panel runs hot — say, a packed enclosure with drives and transformers — factor that derating into the load calculation so you don't nuisance-trip on a warm day. That heat has to leave the enclosure; plan ventilation or a larger cabinet if you're grouping several of these side by side.
Built-in shunt trip and auxiliary options
This variant comes with a shunt trip release (STL) — the design of the auxiliary release is shunt trip, meaning a remote voltage signal can trip the breaker. That's useful for emergency-stop circuits or remote shutdown from a PLC. The integrated auxiliary trip is a separate order code (3VA9688-0BL32), so if you need an alarm contact or status feedback, that's an add-on. No undervoltage release, no auxiliary contact, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this version. If those are required, you'd step up to a different suffix in the 3VA2 family.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 181 mm high, 105 mm wide, 86 mm deep. That's a standard SENTRON 3VA2 frame size — it mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a backplate via the integrated mounting feet. The 105 mm width means it occupies three 35 mm module spaces if you're using a DIN-rail enclosure. Verify the gland plate clearance for the 86 mm depth, especially in shallow wall-mount boxes.
