MCCB for motor protection — 63 A, 3-pole, high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-7MP32-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 63 A continuous current across the full 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed in a warm enclosure. Its motor protection design includes adjustable trip classes (10A, 10, 20, 30) and phase failure detection, so it can be tuned to the thermal time constant of the motor load. The interrupting capacity reaches 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V — that SCCR headroom lets it sit upstream of a high-fault panel without cascading coordination issues. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. A communication function is built in for remote monitoring or trip-event capture.
Panel fit and integration
The 3VA2163-7MP32-0AA0 measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep. It mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. The 3-pole footprint is standard for a 63 A frame MCCB — expect it to occupy roughly 4 inches of DIN width. No undervoltage release or ground-fault module is integrated, so those functions would need external add-ons if required.
