63 A MCCB with ETU310M — starter protection duty
The Siemens 3VA2163-7MS32-0AA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated 63 A continuous current, designed for starter protection — meaning it's sized to handle motor inrush without nuisance tripping while still clearing a bolted fault. The ETU310M electronic overcurrent release gives you adjustable thermal and magnetic pickup bands, so you can fine-tune it to the motor's locked-rotor curve instead of relying on a fixed bimetal. Interrupting capacity runs 330 kA at 240 V AC, 242 kA at 415 V, and 187 kA at 500 V — drops to 3.7 kA at 690 V, which is still enough for most 690 V motor branch circuits. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's comfortable on 480/277 V or 600 V delta systems.
Panel fit — DIN footprint and thermal derating
Mounts on a standard DIN rail. Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep — three-pole width, so it occupies roughly four 18 mm module slots. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication module on this variant; it's a straight thermal-magnetic replacement footprint for existing SENTRON 3VA2 cutouts. Full 63 A rating holds across the entire 40 °C to 70 °C ambient range — no derating needed up to that ceiling. Maximum power loss is 4 W, which keeps panel heat rise minimal even in a dense enclosure.
