What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-7MS32-0DH0 is a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) in the starter protection version, rated for 63 A continuous current (Iu) and a breaking capacity of 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V, and 52.5 kA at 690 V. It is a three-pole device with an ETU310M electronic trip unit and an integrated undervoltage release. The auxiliary contact configuration includes two auxiliary switches plus one trip alarm switch (HQ version).
What the ratings mean for fit
The 63 A rating holds across 40 °C to 50 °C without derating; above that it steps down to 60.48 A at 55 °C and 56.7 A at 70 °C. The 330 kA at 240 V and 242 kA at 415 V mean this breaker can safely interrupt very high fault currents — typical for large transformer secondaries or high-capacity busways — without cascading upstream. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers most industrial 480/277 V and 600 V systems with margin.
Where it fits in the panel
Dimensions are 105 mm wide, 181 mm high, and 86 mm deep — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that mounts on a DIN rail or panel plate. The 75 W maximum power loss at full load should be factored into enclosure thermal calculations, especially in a sealed cabinet.
