63 A MCCB with starter protection — current production
The Siemens 3VA2163-7MS36-0BL0 is a SENTRON 3VA2 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 63 A continuous at 40 °C through 70 °C with no derating across that band — a solid 63 A frame regardless of panel ambient up to 70 °C. Three poles, designed for starter protection, meaning the trip curve is shaped to coordinate with motor-start inrush and protect the contactor/starter assembly downstream. Interrupting capacity is 330 kA at 240 V AC, 242 kA at 415/440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and 3.7 kA at 690 V (–). That 330 kA at 240 V is a high-end fault-current rating — suitable for main feeders or large transformer secondaries where available fault current is substantial. The steep drop to 3.7 kA at 690 V means this is not a 690 V main breaker; it is a 240–500 V device for that duty.
Panel fit and auxiliary complement
Footprint: 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, 86 mm deep (–). This is a standard 3-pole MCCB width for the 3VA2 frame — fits the same DIN-rail or mounting-plate hole pattern as other 3VA2 63 A units. The 86 mm depth is the body depth; allow additional clearance for the undervoltage release (UVR) and auxiliary switch wiring. Factory-fitted auxiliary switch complement: 2 auxiliary switches + 1 trip alarm switch + 1 electrical alarm switch (HQ type). The undervoltage release (UVR) is included. No ground-fault monitoring, no communication function, no phase-failure detection. This is a straightforward protection and signaling package — no extra modules to order for basic status feedback.
