MCCB for Motor and Starter Protection
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2163-7MS36-0JC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated at 63 A continuous current across the full ambient range from 40 °C to 70 °C, meaning no derating is needed for elevated panel temperatures up to that limit. Its interrupting capacity hits 330 kA at 240 V and 242 kA at 415 V, so it can clear high-fault currents on industrial distribution without cascading upstream breakers. The design is explicitly for starter protection, which means it's tuned for motor-starting inrush and coordinated with contactor/overload combinations in a motor control center.
Integrated Shunt Trip and Auxiliary Switching
This variant comes factory-fitted with a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping via a control signal, plus two high-capacity auxiliary switches (HQ) for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. The auxiliary switches share the same compact frame, so no external relay interface is needed for remote indication. The shunt trip allows emergency-stop circuits or supervisory systems to open the breaker without a manual action.
Panel Fit and Mounting
The breaker measures 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall, and 86 mm deep, fitting standard Siemens SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar systems. It mounts via screw terminals on the line and load sides, with a depth that clears most 200 mm deep enclosures. The 3-pole footprint matches the typical MCC bucket layout for motor feeder groups.
