What this breaker carries
The Siemens 3VA2216-6HN42-0KB0 is a 4-pole IEC frame 250 molded case circuit breaker rated 160 A with a breaking capacity class H — 85 kA at 415 V AC. That Icu rating means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 85 kA without welding its contacts or rupturing the case, which is the spec that governs whether it holds in a high-fault panel downstream of a large transformer. The ETU350 electronic trip unit provides LSI protection: long-time (overload) adjustable from 63 A to 160 A, short-time (short-circuit with intentional delay) adjustable 1.5 to 10 times Ir, and instantaneous fixed at 12 times In. That adjustable LSI curve lets you coordinate selectively with downstream feeders — you set the short-time pickup and delay so a branch breaker clears a fault before this main trips. Neutral conductor protection is adjustable — OFF, 50%, or 100% of the phase pickup — which matters for panels feeding non-linear loads where the neutral may carry harmonic current above the phase level.
Built-in accessories and panel integration
This unit ships with a shunt trip (left-side mounted, rated 208–277 V AC 50/60 Hz and 220–250 V DC) and two auxiliary switches (C-form). The shunt trip lets a remote emergency-stop or fire-alarm relay trip the breaker without a separate contactor; the aux switches report the breaker position back to a PLC or status lamp. A nut keeper kit is included — that's a small but time-saving detail for panel builders: the kit retains the busbar connection nuts so they don't drop into the enclosure during assembly. The breaker mounts on a standard DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a mounting plate.
